BEHIND THE SEAMS CONSULTING
Founded by Melanie, former Director of Product Dvelopment turned entrepreneur, Behind the Seams Cunsulting was built to bridge the gap between big-brand strategy and small-brand hustle. After working with mega corperations like Walmart, Macy’s, Target, and Costco, and cult-favorites like Nili Lotan, Best MAde, and Hunter Boot, Melanie traded boardrooms for factory floors — splitting time between NYC’s midtowns garment district and the production heart of India.
From speaking at SXSW to sanding denim in the factory, she's seen (and done) it all. Her deep understanding of the supply chain isn’t theoretical — it’s lived. That’s why Behind the Seams Consulting is different. We give you more than just advice, instead you get practical tools, real industry access, and a partner who’s just as comfortable lending an extra hand at a fashion show as she is talking costing sheets and nerding out over 200-year-old wool looms in rural Ireland.

When Hunter Boot made the leap from boots to full-on rain gear back in 2014, I was part of the team that developed the waterproof textiles used in the collection.

I have worked on many Target programs throughout my career but my favorite was also my first. We helped Target develop price sensitive selvage denim, bringing luxury men's jeans to the masses.

I helped to develop snowboard waterproof denim snowboard pants, with a bonded flannel lining, that were worn by Team USA athletes like Shaun White at the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
